WitW - Session 43

The fight erupted without hesitation. Ty rushed forward, shoving Jeatz’s belongings into his hands. The moment he gripped his Whispering Sword and felt Pascal’s presence return, Jeatz stood taller—his strength renewed.

Scraps leapt into battle, clashing fiercely with the burly Solarian, the two exchanging brutal blows. Jordigan followed suit, charging into the fray, his resolve unwavering even after a devastating Flame Strike from High Priest Odegaard.

Meanwhile, Almyre swiftly countered a Power Word Stun aimed at Horace, keeping him in the fight. Ty, battered and bloodied, took heavy damage, but Almyre pulled her back from the brink. Jeatz, regaining his full strength, deflected another paralyzing spell meant for Horace.

Horace retaliated with ruthless precision, executing several trip attacks, slowly wearing down Odegaard’s legendary resistances. Then, seizing the moment, he surged forward, grappling Odegaard and forcing him into position for the Arcane Shackles.

A whirlwind of spells and counterspells filled the chamber. The party struggled to restrain Odegaard as he desperately tried to escape. Almyre, thinking quickly, cursed him with Hex, weakening his dexterity just enough for her to snap the shackles shut.

At that moment, a single pledge rushed up the stairs to reinforce Odegaard. Pascal, brimming with wild magic, accidentally triggered a Reduce spell on Jeatz—but Jeatz counterspelled it instantly. Reinvigorated, Jeatz unleashed a new Green Flame Blade technique, carving through his foes.

With Odegaard neutralized, Glitter gleefully entered the fray, polymorphing a cleric into a sheep.

But triumph turned to tragedy. A cleric landed a devastating critical hit on Jordigan, tearing a hole through his chest. He gasped his final words:

"Go… find the Eclipse…"

Jeatz, in a display of overwhelming power, Twin-Spelled Disintegrate, obliterating both Odegaard and the Solarian in a single, decisive strike. With a flick of his blade and a quickened spell, he executed the Green Flame Blade, ending the battle.

Horace dispatched the last pledge while Glitter knocked out the final cleric—and the unfortunate sheep-cleric.

Jeatz immediately began casting Teleportation Circle, carving the sigil into the ground. The party now had only moments to defend him.

With time running short, Almyre scoured the room and uncovered a manuscript about Exurbia and a letter signed by Ariazel. Horace called Meera down from the storage above, ensuring she made it out.

They braced for impact.

Solarians and clerics crashed against their barricade. A deafening Thunderwave blasted apart the door, sending bodies flying. Scraps retaliated with the same spell but was mortally wounded—only managing to shift into wild shape at the last moment. Horace tore through the remaining clerics, holding the line.

Then, Jeatz completed the circle.

For a brief moment, two destinations lay before him. One was the Druid Grove of the Blood Moon. The other, however, felt strangely open, yet… forbidden. A voice echoed in his mind:

"No. You can’t. Not yet. He will know."

He made his choice.

The portal flared, and the party—along with the lifeless body of High Priest Odegaard—vanished into the hidden sanctuary of the Blood Moon Grove.
