WitW - Session 58
The party was wrapped in a protective ward by Amir as the world around them disappeared. Amir said he was being called to be the next protector of the Weave. The party would call on him soon—they knew an app.
Amir's presence faded, and they felt themselves pulled along the Weave toward the Wild as the energy in the orb rushed back to where it belonged. They were quick to orient themselves and sped toward the five gashes they saw. They quickly identified the four main courts, but a feeling of ancient secrets pulled them to completely align themselves with the Dark Place. They were launched into the Wild atop Jeatz's tower, where they had left it. Jeatz went unconscious from the curse that plagued his people—being a changeling and returning to the Wild. The party also began to feel their memories of the Material Plane fading.
Despite not seeing the little girl they had left, in the distance they saw their airship crashed. Investigating it was a creature—half on fire, half frosted head to toe. Almyre discovered this was Victor Kane; his reward from Ariazel was the two fey hearts he had stolen from Lady Eirlys and Lord Anar—Almyre's father.
Too weak to take him on, they used what little magic they had left to become invisible and beelined it to the airship. They found Hank and Reevo unharmed and were able to kickstart the ship. Once in the air, Almyre scried and found Orozag in the Spring Court and Mae infirmed in the Autumn Court. She too was struggling with the same curse as Jeatz. From the air, they saw the Spring Court was entirely cloaked in living shadow, except for the distant Widdershins.
The party had two days before the undead army would launch their assault on the Autumn Court, according to Almyre's scry on Mae, but they opted to book it to Orozag. Orozag had found himself stranded in Moss Hollow Cavern, where they had first come across the Arcane Gash so long ago. The Shadow was immediately hostile to anything that passed through it, but Orozag managed to climb aboard using the anchor.
The party swung by Widdershins, relieved to see it was still intact thanks to Lady Loraema's protection, but could not spare a moment. They booked it to the Autumn Court over the next day and a half, earning a level-up. As they approached the ancient baobab tree where Lord Cyanin ruled, they witnessed the massive undead army marching toward the court.
