WitW - Session 59
Making their way leftward, Jeatz felt the fabric of the Wild was highly unstable, and now his friends could also experience wild magic surges. Regardless, the party neared the Autumn Court and saw the thousands of undead troops—including electric eels—only two hours away from the makeshift wall surrounding the tree. They were initially unwelcome by Lord Conifer, who was awaiting a hero from the gash.
Quick thinking led the party to make Horace invisible, and he reappeared as if emerging from the gash. Horace failed to intimidate the fey lord, but he was able to bring his friends in to assist. They lowered the airship into the courtyard and got to work. The party had great success in their preparations—Almyre and Horace secured the wall with arcane wards and hedge knights, while Jeatz and Orozag inspired the army.
At the final moment before the battle, a hawk dropped a gift from Dingle-Dan: the Ring of Evasion they had been promised. The hawk’s exhaustion was also a clue that they had been gone from the Wild for seven days. Only three days remained on Lord Anar's gentle repose clock before he fully expired.
The army crashed against the wall, and the party’s preparation paid off. Almyre boarded the airship, calling out the horde's tactics, while Jeatz and Horace leapt over the wall to battle on the front lines and stave them off. They successfully beat back the worst of the assault. However, as a final surge, the commander—an undead orc in plate armor—rode his giant electric eel over the wall, yelling at Lord Conifer: "Your heart belongs to me!"
